實用商用片語1：on the same page
情境1：主管會議結束後，主席請主管們要接續做的事情
Alright, after today’s meeting, I would like you to discuss every detail with your team members so you’re all on the same page.
會議結束後，希望你們和團隊成員詳細討論細節，確認大家都 ＿＿＿＿＿。
情境2：討論結束後的結語
I hope after today’s discussion, we’re all on the same page. Does anyone have questions?
希望在今天的討論過後，我們 ___________。大家還有什麼問題嗎？
on the same page 字面上意思是「在同一頁上」
當大家都在看同一頁的時候，表示得到的知識是一樣的，認知也是同步的，所以這個片語的意思是「意見一致、有共識或是在相同的進度上」。
相反的，We’re not on the same page. 就是說「我們意見相左、不一致」。
實用商用片語2：sign off on
情境：觀察這一句，猜猜看是什麼意思？
I’m not the decision maker here. I need my boss to sign off on this matter.
我沒有辦法做決定，我需要我的老闆 ________。
to sign off on something 是批准、點頭、拍板定案 approve的意思。
sign 當動詞的時候是「簽名」，在某件事情上面簽名，所以可以想像向老闆「上簽呈」時，讓老闆簽名表示同意才能開始執行。
實用商用片語3：in the hot seat
情境：剛從老闆辦公室談完走出來
My boss really put me in the hot seat today. He wanted me to lay off 10 people in my team. How am I going to do this?
我老闆今天 __________，他要我資遣我的組裡的十個人。這是要我怎麼做啊？
中文有一句成語是「如坐針氈」，表達坐得很不安穩，很惶恐難安。
In the hot seat 也有點像「如坐針氈」的畫面
坐在一個很熱的椅子上一定沒辦法好好坐著，所以可以很廣泛的描述不自在、處境為難，甚至是一個頭兩個大的尷尬處境。
4：get someone’s foot in the door
情境：
She took the job as a secretary just to get her foot in the door. But she managed to work her way up and became the head of the PR department.
她 ________ 是從公司的秘書做起，之後她靠自己的實力坐上公關部管理階層。
get someone’s foot in the door 意思是先邁出第一步，把腳先跨進門，之後再慢慢往成功的方向前進。
5：at the end of the day
情境：
I know talking about money all the time sounds a bit cheesy, but at the end of the day, without money, everything is nothing.
我知道一直講錢聽起來很俗氣，但__________沒有錢萬萬不能啊！
at the end of the day 字面上的意思是「在最後的那一天」，不過通常我們是拿來做為討論時，強調最重要的那一句話、那一個結論，也就是「最終、到頭來」「的意思。
6：at all costs
情境：
We need to stop Howard from getting points at all costs.
我們要＿＿＿＿＿＿阻止霍華德得分。
at all costs 的意思是不惜一切代價。
從字面上應該還算蠻容易聯想的，costs 就是你要付出的價格或費用，所以 at all costs 「所有代價」就是不惜一切代價的意思。
