為什麼跟黃金獵犬有關呢？因為黃金是出了名的脾氣好又貼心溫柔的暖男。我養 Cooper 也進入第四個月，他有好男友特質嗎？特別拍了一支影片列了五個關於他的特質，讓大家來判斷：他是完美情人嗎？

There’s also a term called “golden retriever energy”, used to describe someone who radiates this uplifting, positive and cheerful vibe. With all these qualities in mind, I wonder if goldens really make great boyfriends. I’ve been with Cooper for almost four months now, and during this time, I have observed several aspects of his personality that I want to share with you. And by considering these traits, I’ll let you decide whether Cooper would make an ideal romantic partner.

最近在TikTok上流行好一陣子的是 #goldenretireverboyfriend，表示有像黃金獵犬一樣超好個性。也有一個說法叫做”golden retriever energy”，用來形容一個散發著陽光、正向和開朗的氣質。聽了這麼多說法，我在想黃金獵犬真的那麼適合當男朋友嗎？我和Cooper相處已經將近四個月，這段期間，我觀察到許多他的個性部分想要大家分享，就這些個性，我讓你們來決定Cooper到底是不是個好的約會對象！

First one, Cooper is unbelievably affectionate. If you’re seeking emotional connection or just a companion to spend time with, he is the perfect option! He craves attention and affection to such an extent that hugs and scratches are never enough. When you stop petting him, he gives you this playful nudge because he doesn’t want you to stop petting him. Cooper has a way of making you feel special. But on the other hand, there are times when, if you’re not in the right mood, it can become burdensome.

第一，Cooper超級愛討摸，喜歡得到關注。如果你想要有個情感的連結或單純想要有人陪伴你，那麼他是完美的選擇！他超級需要我們的關注到一個地步好像給他的抱抱和抓抓永遠都不夠，你一停下來摸他，他就會這樣推推你弄你一下因為他想要你繼續摸他。Cooper會讓你覺得你很特別很被需要，但相對的，如果你剛好沒有心情陪他，他這樣子就會讓你覺得滿煩的。

Next, he is high maintenance. He needs lots of exercises to burn off his energy. I have to take him for walks or play games with him; otherwise, he might start getting mischievous and causing troubles. He needs a lot of grooming and he also sheds a lot. My daughter collected the hair he shed in just one day and used it to make wool felt.

Moving on to the 3rd quality. He has the most amazing temperament and is genuinely kind. Seriously, over the past 3 months, I have never seen him get angry. While most dogs hate people pulling their whiskers, tugging their tails, or snatching food from them, Cooper remains completely unaffected by such actions. It seems that he believes all people are born kind. The rude things done to him are perceived as unintentional. Instead of responding with aggressiveness, he chooses to respond with kindness and tolerance. I think in a way, he also helps me to remind myself to always choose kindness.

再來是第三個特質，他個性超好而且真誠友善。說真的，過去3個月來，我從來沒有看過生氣，很多狗都不喜歡別人拉他的鬍鬚、拉尾巴或搶走食物，但是對Cooper做這些事情他完全不為所動，感覺他相信所有的人都人性本善，對他做的這些壞事，在他看來都是不小心的、不是故意做的。他選擇要用友善和包容的方式回應，而不是攻擊回去。我覺得某方面來說，他也幫助我時時記得要選擇當個善良的人。

Next, number four. He is super super extraverted. Whenever I take him out for a walk, he just can’t help himself from going up to every person he sees. He simply can’t resist saying hello to them, or sniffing them, and of course, seeking some attention and some petting from them. There are moments when I have to stop him from getting too close to people who are not comfortable being around big dogs. But, for the most part, people are excited to see Cooper and shower him with affection. In fact, ever since I had him, my bond with my neighbors has actually greatly improved. But on the other hand, if you have a problem with meeting and talking new people all the time, Cooper might drive you crazy.

再來，第四，他超級超級外向。每次帶他去散步，他都會忍不住和每一個他看到的人打招呼，他真的會無法克制自己的向前說聲嗨、聞聞他們，當然，為了要得到關注和被摸一下。我會需要拉著他讓他不要靠別人太近，有些人還是不太喜歡太靠近大狗，但大部分的時候，大家都很開心看到Cooper，會摸摸他、給他大大的擁抱。老實說，自從有了他之後，我和鄰居的關係都變好了呢！但另一方面，如果你不是很喜歡碰到不認識的人、和他們講話，那Cooper有可能會把你逼瘋！

Last, but not least, he’s happy and excited to just be living his life. I mean, he is just his authentic self. Like, he sleeps when he feels like sleeping. Snores so loudly when his sleep gets deep. And he shows affection to those he trusts, and constantly seeks as much attention as he can get, knowing that cuddles and scratches simply make him happy. No wonder people use this “golden retriever energy” to describe someone who always sends out this enthusiastic, positive and warm vibe.

最後一點，他每天都認真的開開心心的過生活。就是，他真的很做自己。比如說，他想睡的時候就睡，一睡熟就開始打呼；對他信任的人就搖尾巴示愛，一逮到機會就盡可能的向別人討摸得到關注，因為他知道抱抱和抓抓會讓他很開心，難怪大家會用“golden retriever energy”來形容一個人散發陽光熱情、正向且溫暖氣質的人

Cooper is unbelievably affectionate. Cooper 很會表達情感，很會撒嬌、討抱。

Affectionate: showing feelings of liking or love 表示愛的；有感情的
一個人如果很affectionate，表示他很會表達愛，不管是用行動或是言語，都會讓身邊的人知道他在表示關心。

形容個性的英文 2. high maintenance

Cooper is high maintenance. Cooper 需要花很多時間照顧。

High maintenance 若是形容動物，通常是指需要花比較多時間照顧，例如狗和貓比較起來，Dogs are high maintenance. 因為每天都要花時間陪伴、散步、梳毛等等。Cats are low maintenance. 因為貓喜歡獨處，也會自己保持清潔，比較不需要時間照料。

He is super extraverted. 他超級外向。

extraverted: possessing an outgoing nature 外向的（性格）
