前一篇文章中，提到「句子語塊」的概念，簡單來說就是有點像是小時候寫的圈詞，一句話裡的單位其實是一組、一組的字，而不是單一一個字逐字理解，稍微抓到其中幾個字或是音就能幫助判斷整段話的意思。
這篇文章要講的其實也算是滿接近的概念，主要就是教大家把長的、複雜的句子變短、變單純，句子變短，當然就好理解很多囉！
我自己其實不是很擅長記文法，特別是一些專有名詞，什麼受詞補語、什麼時候要賓語提前之類的，在我的腦袋當中這些文法邏輯一直沒辦法成立，因為很多公式、規則，讓我感覺不是我認識的英文的樣子，所以一直以來都是用我自己的方式，把這些代換成我能理解的解釋。
今天就來分享我心目中的大主詞、大動詞、大受詞等等的這些「句子老大」們。
首先，這句甜言蜜語就是一個非常能代表大部分英文句子的樣子：
I love you so much.
- I 是這句的主詞
- you 是受詞，一個動作的承受者，通常在動詞後面。
- so much，補充我愛得有多濃，補充更多資訊，或是一些加油添醋的東西，讓句子更有味道、有更多資訊。
這句話會單純，就是因為一個蘿蔔一個坑，主詞一個字 I，動詞一個字 love，受詞也一個字 you，加個 so much，句子很短又很常講。所以很好記，對不對？
所以記清楚囉，「大部分」的基本句子結構，就是長這個樣子！其中主詞和動詞是必須要有的，受詞和補充資訊依照內容可以選擇出現。
句子老大們是誰？
我們試著更進入真實的世界喔。有一個和老闆超重要的會議在早上9:00，結果你竟然遲到了，你說：
I’m so late. My boss is gonna kill me!
- My boss，雖然是兩個字但也算好判斷，是主詞，或是我喜歡「大主詞」來形容（因為就真的比一個字還多啊），這是句子裡第一個老大。
- kill 是動詞，但是一樣來點老大的概念好不好？這裡的 is gonna 是 is going to 表達未來式「等一下會」的時態，一起看成一組字，不要再分了，大動詞是 is gonna kill，
- me 是受詞，或是 is gonna kill me 直接看成是一個大動詞或大動作也可以
老闆／會把我給殺了
My boss / is gonna kill me.
本來六個字的句子，變成只有兩個主要的訊息。句子老大就是這樣的概念，把表達同一個人事物或是動作的字詞分為一組，成為一個單位，句子變短了，自然就好理解。

如果你是我線上課程的同學，一定知道我超愛一部電影叫做 La La Land (樂來越愛你)，我甚至把我的學生們，在銀幕另一端的虛擬學生們，都取為 Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone，因為那部電影我整個被他們圈粉！Emma Stone也因為這部電影擊敗梅姨 Meryl Streep 拿下奧斯卡影后。她的得獎感言也真是讓我看幾次就激動幾次啊！
所以接下來，我們要用 Emma Stone 拿奧斯卡影后的得獎感言做練習，裡面會有更多口語化的語句，而且句子又更長更複雜。準備好了嗎？
我們從她感謝 Ryan Gosling 開始到結束。
第一段，你會怎麼分呢？
And Ryan Gosling, thank you for making me laugh and for always raising the bar and for being the greatest partner on this crazy adventure.
這一句要先會這個用法： thank you for doing something… 感謝對方為你做的某件事，這個句型我們稱為「祈使句」，像是 Listen to me. Please don’t touch the painting. 單純叫你做某事，或是 Have a nice weekend. See you later! 給予祝福或是說掰掰、說謝謝 Thank you! 都是祈使句，直接會有一個動詞當開頭，這是英文句型中，另一個很常見的用法。
回到這句話：Thank you for doing something. （謝謝你為我做的某件事）
所以這個「某件事」可以看做一個大受詞，Emma Stone 感謝他三件事，所以有三個大受詞，中間用 and 連接起來。這一句很單純喔，簡單來說就是 Thank you for doing this, this and that.
- 第一個要感謝的是 make me laugh 放到 thank you for 的句型，thank you for making me laugh。
- 第二個要感謝的是 always raise the bar，想樣有一個標準線或是一個標竿在那裡，每一次都把那個標準提高，就是表達他做得很好、表現傑出 thank you for raising the bar
- 第三件感謝的是 be the greatest partner on this crazy journey
你有可能想要再細分出這句的大名詞 the greatest partner （最好的搭擋），on this crazy journey 是補充資訊，也OK！這兩個小老大理解後，再看回整句 Thank you for being the greatest partner on this crazy journey。
句子中能夠搭配成一組的，就盡量合併，一起理解，讓句子盡量變成一塊一塊的，就能越縮越短。
有了這樣的分組後，句子節奏呢？每個老大都念順了就一起試試看喔。
下一句，看看她接下來要向誰致謝？謝什麼呢？
To our whole crew, everyone that put their heart and souls into this film, I’m gonna find you all individually, and I’m going to thank you, along with my friends who I love so much. I’m gonna hug the hell out of you when the feeling re-enters my body.
our whole crew 大名詞「我們整個劇組」，劇組裡每一個人 everyone，這句 that 後面其實是一個形容詞子句，用一句話去形容 that 前面的這個 everyone，形容詞子句超級好用、使用的頻率也非常高，應該會放在之後練文法的單元！但現在，我也一樣稱為「大形容詞」，that put their heart and souls into this film（把心和靈魂都放進這去），就是全心投入的意思，這些「全心全意把生命放進這部電影裡的」人，連中文也都快要是一句話了！
再來 I’m gonna…我要幹嘛呢？其實就是gonna find you all individually and thank you。這裡她講了兩次 I’m gonna 其實只是想要強調、或是更有張力一點：「我要一個一個找到你們，然後我要謝謝你們」這樣的感覺。
還要謝她的朋友喔，my friends who I love so much 又是一個形容詞子句，「我很愛的」朋友們。
最後一個要做的事情，I’m gonna hug the hell out of you，這裡 the hell out of 很口語的用法，有點誇飾，Hug the hell out of you （狠狠把你抱緊緊的），注意這邊的連音 hell-out-of。
最後補充資訊： when the feeling re-enters my body.
最後一段還有什麼？
I still have a lot of growing and learning and work to do, and this guy is a really beautiful symbol to continue on that journey and I’m so grateful for that. So thank you so much. Thank you.
這裡要細分 a lot of growing 一組，and learning 一組，and work to do 一組。她謙虛地說「還有很多成長的空間」。
然後 this guy （這位奧斯卡先生）is a really beautiful symbol to continue on that journey.
若還是難懂，可以先看大名詞 a really beautiful symbol （一個很美麗的象徵） to continue on that journey （要繼續這個旅程），我這邊稍微整理了意思，翻成是個美麗的象徵，提醒我要繼續前進。中英絕對不能直翻，像這裡就需要分段看分段理解，然後再合起來找出適合中文的語法。
